Job Title: Cabinet Maker

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Carpenter / Cabinet Maker to join our dynamic team. The Carpenter / Cabinet Maker will be responsible for constructing high-quality, custom-built cabinets and / or installations based on company provided specifications. The ideal candidate will have excellent woodworking skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and follow blueprints and design plans. This position requires both creativity and technical expertise to craft cabinets and other items / structures that meet the highest standards of quality and aesthetics.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret and follow construction plans and blueprints to accurately execute woodworking projects and the construction and assembly of custom cabinets, including but not limited to kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, closet organizers, and other built-in furniture or structures using various hand and power tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials (wood, laminate, drywall, etc.) as per project specifications.
• Install structures, fixtures, and cabinetry with precision and attention to detail, making necessary adjustments and alignments for a perfect fit.
• Collaborate with management, clients, designers, and other team members to discuss project requirements and provide expert advice on design, material selection, and customization options.

• Identify potential issues and propose solutions to ensure the successful completion of projects.
• Select the appropriate materials, such as lumber, plywood, and hardware, considering quality, durability, and aesthetics.
• Safely operate woodworking machinery and tools, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines and protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of tools and materials.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on woodworking tools and machinery, ensuring their efficiency and longevity.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, techniques, and materials relevant to cabinet making and carpentry.

Qualifications and Experience required:

• Grade 12 or similar qualification.
• Must be a Qualified Carpenter / Cabinet Maker with completed apprenticeship in woodworking, cabinet making or carpentry.
• Knowledge of CAD software and 3D modeling for design visualization would be an advantage.
• Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to cabinet-making / carpentry.
• Proven experience as a Carpenter or Cabinet Maker or a similar role in a woodworking or furniture manufacturing environment.
• Proficient knowledge and expertise in woodworking techniques, such as joinery, shaping, cutting, and finishing.
• Strong knowledge of various wood types, grades, and related materials commonly used in cabinet making. carpentry.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, design plans, and specifications.
• Proficiency in using woodworking tools and machinery, both hand and power tools
• A high level of attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make precise measurements and calculations.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to interact with clients, designers, and team members.
• Physical dexterity and stamina to perform tasks requiring standing, bending, lifting, and maneuvering heavy materials.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to woodworking and machine operation.
• Creative mindset and the ability to understand and translate clients' requirements into functional and visually appealing cabinets and structures.
