JOB PURPOSE
Plan, Co-ordinate, Facilitate and Manage the business activities of the airline catering production unit in Cape Town. Support the commercial growth and diversification (non-airline business) strategy in line with company objectives to deliver sustainable profitability.
Operational Requirement
Ensure that production output for the facility is achieved as planned within the shortest possible lead time as to quality specifications and customer requirements
Ensure proper allocation of job assignments as to scheduling, resource availability, cycle time and customer/ airline requirements
Ensure that production data is accurately recorded
Ensure that the logistics function is optimise, on time performance and optimal service levels are achieved according to customer/ industry standards
Oversee the buying function and ensure all resources i.e., raw materials etc. are in place to meet production schedules
Ensure proper stock management ,control systems and procedures aligned and cost effective
Supervise the implementation of Quality Assurance requirements, and ensure adherence to all legislative requirements to ensure compliance and minimise business risks.
Oversee the maintenance function of equipment, fleet and building to ensure continuous production and service delivery
Continuously liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a adherence to service level agreements and client satisfaction
Implement stock control systems and procedures to ensure stock management are cost effective and aligned with costing principles of the company
Continuously monitor wastage to reduce cost of sales and maximise profitability according to company objectives.
Assist in developing the growth strategy in conjunction with the commercial department, including charters and other business opportunities in the market, to increase revenue and profitability.
Compile monthly and quarterly reports as required
Pro-actively address and communicate any challenges that may affect business operations/performance.
Financial
Analyse the regions financial needs in order to integrate financial requirements to ensure effective budgeting according to the Coastal regions objectives.
Facilitate and evaluate proposals for the region to ensure validity and adherence to agreed financial objectives
Control expenditure according to budget and report deviations according to financial procedures.
Manages the commercial value-add of the discipline-related programs and projects
Continuously analyse the regions financial information to determine viability and profitability according to agreed objectives
People Management
Manage resource allocations to ensure effective staffing levels and utilisation according to organisational needs
Manages subordinates' key performance areas by setting, agreeing and monitoring adherence to performance targets/objectives.
Take appropriate ER action to correct non-performance to ensure the attainment of set objectives.
Prepares career development plans, appraises progress and provides training and coaching to develop subordinates to their full potential.
Assist with the talent management of key skills in the region to ensure the development and advancement of employees identified as talent.
SHEQ
Ensure the effective implementation and monitoring of SHEQ and HACCP related programs in the region.
Stakeholder Engagement
Manage external service providers and clients by negotiating and co-ordinating the implementation of projects and service level agreements.
Represent Air Chefs ate various forums in the regions to communicate Air Chefs objectives to influence decision-making and opinion in favour of the organisation.
Education Level: (minimum)
Relevant 3-years degree or similar qualification
Skill and Experience:
5 years experience in managing diversified production business units, airline catering an advantage
Computer literacy
Interpersonal Skill
Strong written and oral skill
SHEQ regulations and legislative requirements
