Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaner to join our in-house canteen team for our established call center based in Umhlanga. As a key member of our cleaning team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and hygiene of various areas, including the scullery, kitchen, dining and service areas.The ideal candidate will be trustworthy, reliable, and have a keen attention to detail, ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our kitchen and eating areas. You will interact with clients and staff, requiring excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A strong work ethic, coordination, and the ability to work quickly and methodically are essential. As a team player, you will help maintain a service-oriented environment, working efficiently and safely.Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and action cleaning opportunities, in addition to completing set tasks
• Complete cleaning tasks within specified timeframes
• Clean scullery, kitchen, eating areas, and front office areas
• Maintain Centenary Cafxc3xa9 hygiene standards as prescribed
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with customers and clients
• Use a variety of cleaning tools and chemicals safely and effectively
• Report on any outstanding cleaning items such as detergents in a timely manner
• Complete and sign the cleaning roster accordingly
• Ensure timesheets are completed and signed on time
• Regularly wash all waste bins and maintain cleanliness
• Sort and separate waste into appropriate categories
• Store cleaning equipment and products neatly in designated cupboards on each floor

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric preferred
• Clear communication skills
• At least 12 months experience as a cleaner / in a similar role
• Knowledge of operating cleaning equipment
• Prior experience within the food service industry is preferred
• Good understanding of catering and food safety standards
• Previous work experience in recycling (beneficial)
