As a Stormwater Candidate Engineer in our Water Resources team, you will provide technical and specialist analysis and design support in the area of stormwater drainage, hydrology and flood management for a wide range of infrastructure projects including road, rail and urban development in Africa and around the world.

Here is what you will do:

Hydrological analysis of storm rainfall Hydrological and hydraulic analysis of catchment runoff and watercourses Hydraulic modelling and design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, scour protection and other flood control structures Sustainable urban drainage system design Preparation of project specifications, bill of quantities and tender documentation Stormwater master planning and flood risk assessments

Here's what we're looking for:

0-4 years experience in a similar role - essential Experience in hydrological studies, hydraulic analysis and design of stormwater drainage infrastructure such as culverts and bridges - advantageous Experience in the design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, scour protection, flood control structures, and runoff treatment and management devices - advantageous Knowledge of detailed road drainage design and multi-disciplinary interfaces - advantageous; Experience in the use of drainage analysis and associated design software technology applications (e.g. HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW, PCSWMM, Autocad, Civil 3D, GIS etc.) - highly advantageous Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling software (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW) Strong knowledge of sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field Minimum of 2 years' experience in stormwater engineering or related field
