CAD Technician - Water/ Hydrologic and Hydraulic - JhbOverview:Woolpert Africa, based in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa, offers extensive high accuracy lidar, imagery and remote sensing experience, as well as airborne topographic, hyper spectral, and thermal survey and mapping. Because of our growth we are now excited to be adding a CAD Technician to our new Johannesburg Water/Hydrologic and Hydraulic Team!Responsibilities:Develop, implement, and document data management workflows, specifications, and processesSupport Project Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects related to site design, water, sewer, drainage, and roadwayUse AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD to develop engineering and design documents.Communicate with design team about concepts, data, and specific needs associated with the completion of design deliverables.Manage personal task assignments and adheres to project scope of work, schedule and budget on all assigned tasks.Perform basic calculations to analyze and design civil system components using Civil 3D or MicroStation.Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity.Assists with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions.Create a storm design and profiles in pipe networks.Participate in firm-wide quality initiatives.Perform other duties as assignedQualifications:Qualifications / Experience:High School Diploma or equivalentAssociate Degrees in Computer-Aided drafting and Design is advantageous, but not required.Must have 2+ years related experience.Must be able to read, analyze and interpret basic technical documents.Must be able to apply mathematical concepts.Must have average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.Must be able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community.Must have Microsoft Office suite skills.Must possess a highly proficient expertise in and AutoCAD softwarePreferred to have experience in AutoDesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD software or Microstation.Physical Requirements:Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment.Must be able to occasionally reach and bend.Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.About WoolpertWoolpert is committed to a vision to become the premier architecture, engineering and geospatial (AEG) firm, and one of the best companies in the world.
