Who are we?

Sanlam Group Technology is responsible for the provision of a digitally enabled technology service as a group COE, drive business and transformation and provide group-wide digital and data architecture. We operate the various technology platforms and shared services, ensure Cyber and Information Security resilience, and act as technology governance and risk orchestrator for technology across Sanlam.

What will you do?

Under direct supervision, designs, codes, tests, debugs and corrects programs in development in procedural/legacy, ERP, OO and Netcentric environments. May also provide support and maintenance of computer systems. Produces complex program specifications and implements system enhancements. Works within a strict framework of programming standards and may give input into programming standards.

Provide Software Solutions and related services to Sanlam Retail Affluent's (SRA) business environments.

What will make you successful in this role?

• Analysis of change requests received
• Provide recommendations man-day estimates for implementing changes
• Design Prototypes for change requests
• Design Web Interfaces (graphic design) if applicable
• Maintain existing applications according to change requests
• Produce appropriate software applications that satisfy the specifications
• Test Own applications or artefacts to ensure correctness
• Test Interfaces to other systems
• Debugging of applications
• Implement changes into the Production environment
• Document changes implemented and applications
• Updates of data model documentation
• Problem solving, root cause analysis and user assistance (functional)
• Technical support or assistance to others on own applications or systems
• Provision of user guides or training material
• Provide hands-on training for own system
• Provide standby or support (if and when applicable)
• Provide test information to Testers
• Correct errors or bugs in production
