Purpose of the job
To manage a range of related purchasing departments in a division, ensuring optimised profitability by providing a range of commodities that is the most wanted to the Pep consumer market and through the application of appropriate margins and price points
Role Expectations
Current trade- manage weekly performance activities and action plans through supporting the team. Reporting of current trade to the senior executive team, monitoring defined KPIs against strategic intent.
Post seasonal reviews and seasonal strategy- formulate a supplier strategy that is risk-balanced in collaboration with the sourcing team.
Travel locally and internationally as per business requirements

Liaise with stakeholders/role players outside own division to ensure alignment,
address and improve strategic and escalated operational issues

Ad hoc responsibilities
Tertiary qualification, preferably purchasing / business management, consumer market and/or marketing management
5 - 8 years' Buyer experience and in various departments (at least 3)
Must have managed a team
Must have managed own budget
Fabric knowledge
Financial management skills
PC literacy
Presentation skills
Negotiation skills
Meeting facilitation skills
In-depth understanding of the buying process
Understanding of the planning process; store operational process; supply chain processes; market understanding; marketing understanding; and product knowledge
Code 8 Driver's Licence
Willingness to travel
