DescriptionPURPOSE OF THE POSITIONThis is an exciting opportunity to join the Essentials team. Your role will be to source and compile a range of product that lives alongside the full Underwear and Sleepwear assortment. Sourcing these items at the best price and enabling customers to find excitement in store is the buyers goal. This position is an exciting and challenging opportunity that will require the successful candidate to contribute significantly to the profit margin and price points of Pep, in accordance with the departmental directive.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESSupplier management (sourcing and loading)To continuously develop and adapt product strategy to effectively deliver to the business unitTo build a competitive and balanced range by understanding, interpreting & applying the relevant seasonal trends according to the purchasing strategy.To ensure the timeous execution of procurement administration; and to source & procure the correct products in accordance with the agreed quality specifications and standardsTo continuously react to trade in terms of performanceTo ensure that the range supports agreed marketing campaigns and in-store VMTo continuously develop products and consistently execute products to offer the best valueTo effectively build and maintain supplier relationships, select the correct supplier for the appropriate product category and manage them according to the Company policies and procedures with reference to the approved business plan.To effectively maintain internal stakeholder relationshipsRequirementsJOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTSA relevant Degree in Fashion, Textile Design /Clothing Production/ Product Development /Merchandising, or a related fieldComputer Literacy (MS Office & Google Suite)Creative, eye for detail and analytical business approachMinimum of 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience as an established buyerLingerie experience would be advantageousCompetencies required: Accuracy, Directing, Negotiation, Results-oriented, Persuasiveness, Commercial Drive, Initiative, Analysing and forming opinions.Work LevelMid-LevelTypePermanentSalaryMarket RelatedEE PositionNoLocationWestern Cape
