Job Summary:

The Buyer plays a critical role in managing the procurement of intercompany goods for the organization. This position involves ensuring that purchased materials meet cost requirements. The Buyer collaborates with cross-functional teams to address procurement issues, perform cost analysis, and implement cost-saving initiatives. Additionally, this role involves monitoring supplier performance and maintaining strong supplier relationships.



Duties & Responsibilities:Perform import buying activities of Xylem Water solutions inventory related to customer orders (demand ordering) and projects for sites in Africa. Create purchase order conversions for non-stock orders at remaining sites in Africa (Sensus). Clean up open POs in all systems, iScala, SAP- open proposals GIM Adapt easily to Manual PO processing ensuring accuracy of purchase orders created and processed in a timely manner. Including prompt reviewing and requesting of purchase requisition approvals. Perform PO Confirmations via EDI; OA and other electronic email mechanisms. Drive accuracy and attention to detail (ensure that purchase orders are accurate and contain the correct information, such as item descriptions, quantities, prices, and delivery dates. Check for conversions before ordering complete units). Prepare and provide accurate information when expediting PO's with factories and attend meetings when required to do so. Conduct Spend analysis related to import orders with all related Factories and their global spread. Drive Correct execution of GIM Demand Proposals Reduce overall factory lead-times from all Xylem factories by owing, executing, and controlling Import Orders OTD and deliver as per yearly target. Assist in identifying and implementing logistics costing improvements together with sourcing team in relations to import inbound movements. Control all trade compliance documentation and filing quarterly and prepare audit for import controlled items. Assist with logistics coordination and arrangements for any shipments (inbound and outbound) for Xylem Africa Region. You are to provide clearing instructions. Provide input and control of master data maintenance and validation in the ERP system. Resolve import procurement queries between internal stakeholders and factories. Apply correct incoterms for import shipments according to Xylem Trade Compliance requirements. Strong efficiency in working on iScala, GIM and SAP ERP Systems and navigation on Teamguru and PowerBI Provide procurement support function to Sales, O&L, Warehouse and Xylem Sites in Africa and all Global Factories Complete STO requirements as and when required, complete drop shipment GRN's, Manual PO's for invoice processing purposes.

Requirements & Qualifications:Completed degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management or a related field that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in similar role within similar industry. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel SAP). In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices. Experience with inventory management software and systems. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
