Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
Develop and execute a robust category strategy for Fresh Produce and Groceries, focused on maximising margin while maintaining exceptional quality and competitive pricing.
Master the seasonality and supply chain dynamics of fresh produce, making critical, time-sensitive purchasing decisions to ensure product availability and minimise waste.
Identify, evaluate, and establish strong, sustainable relationships with local farmers, growers, and international suppliers, focusing on ethical sourcing and consistent quality assurance.
Negotiation & Cost Management
Lead frequent price and term negotiations with suppliers, leveraging market knowledge to secure the best possible cost prices, particularly in volatile commodity markets.
Manage and mitigate risks associated with price fluctuations, adverse weather conditions, and logistics delays, which are critical in the fresh sector.
