Goats Window is a newly opened boutique safari lodge in the Robertson Valley, part of the VEA Destinations Group. The property blends luxury, nature, and mindful guest experiences. We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic candidates who can hit the ground running, take ownership and add great value to this already flourishing lodge experience.
Position Overview:
The
Butler
serves as the personal host and liaison for guests throughout their stay -- delivering seamless, intuitive service that embodies the
warmth and refinement of African hospitality
. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, anticipation of guest needs, and the ability to coordinate with multiple lodge departments to curate an
unforgettable 5-star experience
from arrival to departure.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Hosting:
Personally welcome guests upon arrival and oversee
all aspects
of their stay with discretion and professionalism.
Anticipate
guest needs, preferences, and special requests -- ensuring every detail of their lodge experience feels effortless and personalised.
Provide in-room and table service for meals, drinks, and amenities as required.
Coordinate
with housekeeping, kitchen, activities, and spa teams to align guest itineraries and preferences.
Set up private dining experiences, sundowners, or special occasion events
Escort guests
to and from suites, vehicles, and lodge facilities safely and courteously.
Operational Excellence:
Maintain detailed knowledge of lodge offerings, schedules, and guest activity plans.
Ensure suites are consistently presented to the
highest luxury standards
, liaising closely with housekeeping and maintenance.
Assist with beverage and minibar management, inventory checks, and stock rotation.
Uphold hygiene, safety, and presentation standards across guest-facing areas.
Report guest feedback, maintenance issues, or special requests to management promptly.
Coordination & Communication:
Work hand-in-hand
with the kitchen, guides, and front office teams to ensure seamless guest experiences.
Communicate
guest preferences (dietary, housekeeping, activity) clearly and confidentially to relevant departments.
Participate in daily operations meetings and
contribute to continuous improvement
in guest service delivery.
Requirements:
Experience in a five-star hospitality environment
, ideally in butler, waiter, or guest liaison roles.
Formal training in hospitality or butler service
advantageous
, but not required.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to
multitask and prioritise guest needs.
High
emotional intelligence
and service mindset -- intuitive, polished, and adaptable.
Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages (Afrikaans, German, and other European languages etc.) advantageous.
