Key Responsibilities:
oEnsure comprehensive, relevant, and accurate operational, management, and statutory reports are available
oWork with Dept Head on Enrolment Planning for DHET, Wits Internal Enrolment planning and support for Wits planning and budgeting
oDevelop a responsive, agile, high-performance team with broad and deep competencies
oAssist in determining and planning the direction of analytic and reporting developments aligned with university strategy. Support back-end planning and development efforts.
oEngage with BIS stakeholder groups to understand their information requirements and develop the appropriate organization, processes, and resources to meet these needs.
oExemplify and promote the BIS core values in the BIS Service Charter.
Requirements:
oMasters in Information Engineering and an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or Information Engineering (NQF9).
oDomain expert in staff, student, finance, HEMIS, and research data
oHigh level of mathematical/statistical competence
o3plus years experience in programming PL/SQL, SQL, Python, Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Business Objects, and PowerBI
oKnowledge of multidimensional database design and data sourcing and requirements gathering
oExpert in data visualization and communication of results to diverse audiences
oContribute to the creation and maintenance of dashboards, reports, and forecasts for internal users and external stakeholders
oHigh level of analytics interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
oUtilize statistical techniques for data analysis and provide insights into university processes and performance
oParticipate in the development of data standards and procedures within the analytics team
oCollaborate with senior analysts to identify and prioritize analytical projects that support decision-making processes
oTraining and Support to end-users on how to access and utilize reports and dashboards and develop and maintain documentation on reports, documentation and data processes
