The Business Development Support Executive plays a key role in supporting the business development and sales function by
engaging prospective clients, qualifying opportunities, and securing high-quality appointments
for our Business Development Managers.
This role combines structured outbound activity with consultative conversations, ensuring prospects are well understood, appropriately qualified, and fully prepared for productive follow-up meetings. The successful candidate will be confident on the phone, commercially aware, highly organised, and comfortable working to targets while maintaining a professional and client-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
Proactively contact prospective clients via outbound calls, email, and follow-up activity to introduce services and initiate conversations
Qualify prospects against agreed criteria, including needs, suitability, decision-makers, and readiness to proceed
Book high-quality appointments for BDMs, ensuring accurate briefing notes and context are captured
Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of all interactions within the CRM system
Support advisers with pre-meeting preparation, including gathering background information and confirming next steps
Manage call-back schedules, appointment confirmations, and follow-up activity to maximize attendance and conversion
Handle inbound enquiries where required, ensuring timely, professional engagement
Work closely with the wider sales and operations teams to align messaging, priorities, and pipeline objectives
Operate in line with internal quality standards, data protection requirements, and compliance guidelines
Provide feedback on prospect objections, lead quality, and market insights to support continuous improvement
Key Skills
Confident, professional telephone manner with strong rapport-building ability
Proven experience in appointment setting, lead qualification, outbound sales, or business development support
Strong questioning and listening skills, with the ability to identify client needs and opportunities
Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail and accurate record-keeping
Comfortable working to targets, KPIs, and activity-based performance measures
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Strong time management and ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Skills
Experience within financial services, professional services, property, or other regulated environments
Familiarity with CRM systems and structured sales pipelines
Understanding of compliance-led or advisory sales processes
Experience within Business Development teams or functions
Exposure to UK clients or experience working UK business hours
Salary: Negotiable, up to R17,000 basic + performance bonus + transport allowance + post-probation benefits.
Please note that this role is based onsite in Foreshore, Cape Town - no hybrid available
We operate according to UK Hours.
