Job Description


To support the growth and development of the fiduciary distribution channels to enable Nedbank to expand its reach and business, through new and existing initiatives and effective delivery of the channel development strategy into the market; in line with Nedbanks business strategy.

Job Responsibilities

  • Be Accountable for the Trust offering in the market and internally by: creating market presence (derive CVP/PVP for local trusts); define the Business value proposition of Local Trusts within the Business (build on existing financial and client outcomes), and assist Legal in the training and development of Trust specialist around the evolving Local Trust environment and the changing landscape and how local and Offshore Trusts align to the future
  • Deliver consistent fiduciary advice by developing, building, maintaining and using a repository of forms; precedents and processes
  • Provide fiduciary and legal oversight on trusts, their objectives, performing regular reviews, assisting with deed amendments and applications to MOHC, formal letters to be drafted to Master of High Court etc.
  • Provide input to structuring, design [from implementation to vesting] of new and or existing Trusts as Fiduciary Specialist including guidance on related governance aspects and trustee training;
  • Undertake Due diligence reviews, recommend remedial action, implementation and monitoring to end of proposals emanating from the proposals made;
  • Interpret and communicate legislative and regulatory developments by formulating and socializing processes and business views to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support team and managers in addressing client complaint matters and with technical issues in a client centric manner and resolving for client retention;
  • Consistently ensure work is completed to plan, progress reviewed & corrective action taken
  • Comply with legal, regulatory and risk standards, monitored and corrective action taken
  • Initiate, formulate and drive the crafting of polices, procedures, standards, processes, etc.
Business development support
  • Introduce new business by providing deeds, SLA's Agreements etc in place..
  • Engaging ad collaboration with the distribution channel to provide the support and understanding of the trust business.
  • Consideration and identification of new products to expand the current NGT offering
  • Liaison and meeting with the potential new clients and managing New client requests with a view of establishing new trusts through leads and queries.
  • Preparation of quotes, pitch for new business and framing of administration and service level agreements;
  • Ongoing review of the pricing policy in line with industry practices and addressing any cost to service profitability issues with Clients, distribution channels and the Client Value Proposition team ,
  • Develop collaborative relationships with Internal teams, Investment managers, consultants, external to meet business needs
Continuous Improvement Culture
  • Maintain own technical knowledge of all fiduciary aspects in relation to trust administration and Tax Court cases and keeping up to date with legislation and court cases that impacts the business; Provide upskilling and technical training, to enhance the Trust Practitioner and Trust Specialist role;
  • Seek opportunities to improve business processes and systems Contributing to the continuous improvement culture of revising processes and systems to ensure controls and efficiencies in place by identifying and recommending effective ways to operate [within the Fiduciary framework]
  • Governance and conformance to ensure the trusts comply with current regulation and also consider the impact of new legislation to the trust book.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
  • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
Preferred Qualification

Post Graduate diploma in Wills, Estates and Trusts

Commercial Financial Planning

Minimum Experience Level

More than 5 years in a Fiduciary environment or relevant Legal or Tax experience
