Vanguard Logistics, a dynamic and globally recognised leader in LCL consolidation, is seeking a motivated Business Development Representative to join our Durban Team. This full-time role is ideal for a driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about building strong customer relationships.
Key Performance Areas:
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within VLS Warehouse and LCL services
- Grow and manage existing client relationships to maximise account potential
- Compile competitive estimates and business proposals
- Promote and drive adoption of Vanguard's unique digital tools and customer platforms
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure service excellence and client satisfaction
- Conduct regular face-to-face client visits, online meetings, and service calls to maintain strong relationships and ensure customer satisfaction
- Liaising with origin VLS offices / agents (requesting charges, status updates etc)
- RFQ and Tariff distribution and updates, support when needed
- Reporting all sales activities on our internal Sales Reporting Tool, SRT
- Booking and Tracking
- Quote tracking
- Quoting and pricing following up
- Estimates Support.
- Sales.
- Visiting customers.
- Management of Customer List.
- The duties and responsibilities as detailed above may change and evolve over time. You may therefore be expected to perform duties outside of this current scope from time to time and or on an adhoc basis.
Hours:08:00 - 16:30
Skills & Responsibilities:Minimum Requirements for position:
- Matric or similar NQF Level 4.
- Qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain an added advantage.
- Min 3 - 5 years relevant industry experience in:
o Air Freight exports
o Sea Freight exports
- People skills:
o Team Leadership abilities.
o Strong communications and negotiation skills.
o Ability to manage relationship with customers, suppliers, fellow employees, and management.
o Teamwork orientated, proactive and meticulous.
o Knowledge of INCO terms are essential.
o Intermediate computer literally skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
o Ability to work in a pressurized environment.
o Hands-on individual with a strong work ethic.
o Extreme attention to detail and adherence to internal procedures.
o Strong selling ability and skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: R20000,00 - R24000,00 per month
