About the Company Our client is a global logistics and freight-forwarding organisation with a strong presence in South Africa. They provide end-to-end logistics solutions tailored to industry-specific needs. This role is based at their Jet Park offices, with a focus on growth in the Retail/FMCG sector.
Role Overview This is not a traditional "head of department" role. It is a pure business development position where you will be responsible for driving new sales within the Retail/FMCG sector. You will focus on securing new freight forwarding and logistics business, ensuring service implementation, and managing ongoing client relationships.
Key Responsibilities

• Identify, prospect, and secure new Retail/FMCG clients for freight forwarding and logistics solutions.
• Achieve and exceed new business sales targets.
• Develop tailored proposals, estimates, and presentations for client solutions.
• Negotiate rates and service agreements to ensure competitive, value-driven offerings.
• Establish new accounts and ensure smooth service implementation.
• Maintain CRM (Concerto) with accurate pipeline data and activity reporting.
• Stay informed on industry developments, competitor activity, and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Matric essential.
• Minimum 3 years' proven sales track record in Clearing & Forwarding.
• Previous formal sales training required.
• Strong knowledge of Retail/FMCG logistics needs.
• Demonstrated ability to secure and grow new accounts in freight forwarding.
• Excellent presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
