Business Development Manager - Mining - Southern Africa
Location: Central or East Africa (Frequent travel across the continent)
(French and English fluency (Business level) required
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading multinational client seeking a Business Developer Mining & Industry to spearhead their expansion across Africa. The company operates in key sectors including energy, telecommunications, and heavy industry, and is looking to strengthen its presence in the mining sector through strategic business development and project leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Development Strategy

• Define and implement the company's strategy for the Mining & Heavy Industry sector across Africa.
• Develop service offerings and adapt to market trends to meet client needs.

Client Prospecting & Acquisition

• Identify and target new clients in the mining sector.
• Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers.

Client Relationship Management

• Ensure high levels of client satisfaction by managing and nurturing existing relationships.

Market Analysis & Competitive Intelligence

• Analyze mining market trends and competitor strategies to identify business opportunities.

Contract Negotiation

• Lead contract negotiations, collaborating with legal and financial teams to secure deals.

Strategic Partnerships

• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with industry stakeholders.

Project Management

• Manage the development phase of projects, ensuring objectives are met on time and within budget.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

• Provide regular updates on business development activities and adjust strategies as needed.

Innovation & Value Proposition

• Propose innovative solutions tailored to the mining industry, keeping up with technological advancements.

Key Requirements:

• Master's degree in Business or Engineering
• Significant experience in business development within the mining or heavy industry sectors in Africa
• Knowledge of energy projects and market dynamics
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and client management skills
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Fluency in French and Business English and willingness to travel frequently
