Job Description


An opportunity has arisen in the Consumer Division for a Business Development Manager, responsible for searching and exploring both the local and international markets for new products and trademarks to expand and strengthen the company's position in the market. Searches for joint ventures and co-marketing opportunities. Negotiates with relevant authorities and organisations to ensure the company's products and services are recommended. Investigates existing marketing and business practices and recommends opportunities for improvement within the company. May also be responsible for the identification and initiation of development projects. Assists in achieving the development needs through investigations, viability studies and liaison with local authorities.   • 4 Year Degree

Duties & Responsibilities xe2x80xa2 Ensure that the business delivers on the set strategy xe2x80xa2 Formulate the business growth strategy xe2x80xa2 Provide strategic direction and input into the next 3-5 years xe2x80xa2 Provide strategic direction in relation to the attainment of growth within existing and new markets and or customers and ensure that the business delivers on this strategy xe2x80xa2 Provide strategic direction in relation to markets, customers, competitors, regions, countries that we should be in xe2x80xa2 Monitor and evaluate progress on all projects xe2x80xa2 Provide direction to teams and clients to achieve results xe2x80xa2 Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with the required design xe2x80xa2 Deliver at least 1 project a year to the Logistics Achiever Awards event xe2x80xa2 Develop new and existing client relationships and ensure either new business or sell on work xe2x80xa2 Provide support in and/or lead contract renewals xe2x80xa2 Provide innovative supply chain solutions to clients that result in annuity-based revenue for Unitrans xe2x80xa2 Monitor and evaluate sales pipeline and ensure all timelines are met in securing the deal. xe2x80xa2 Identify and develop new client relationships or potential acquisitions xe2x80xa2 Ensure a healthy sales pipeline taking sales cycles into account and the future growth required by Unitrans divisions xe2x80xa2 The development of strategic customer relationships and ensuring alignment with our customer's objectives xe2x80xa2 Constant competitor and market monitoring in terms of shifts at our customers, competitors and the supply chain industry both locally and abroad xe2x80xa2 Deliver solutions in all aspects of supply chain management from developing a design, implementing the design and also managing the design xe2x80xa2 Identify, chase down and monitor the clients that we want xe2x80xa2 Report on all sales and marketing activities to EXCO xe2x80xa2 Manage and oversee resources to all work within CSD and monitor progress xe2x80xa2 Ensure that utilizations of staff are in line with budget and that maximum utilization is achieved xe2x80xa2 Ensure work allocated is aligned to aspirations of staff, availability and capability xe2x80xa2 Balance productivity with billing, revenue and EBIT and ensure that utilization of staff results in meeting budgetary financial targets xe2x80xa2 Ensure that work delivered by CSD is of the highest quality xe2x80xa2 Prioritization of activities and projects when required xe2x80xa2 Deliver the CSD budget in terms of cost and value xe2x80xa2 Monitor and control all aspects of CSD financials against plan and budget in relation to cost control and sales targets xe2x80xa2 Design and implement or tweak new business processes during the year and ensure strict adherence to these. xe2x80xa2 Finalise all aspects of monthly financials including customer and intercompany billing and reporting in line with Unitrans group policy xe2x80xa2 Input and finalization of the business plan and annual budgets with MD xe2x80xa2 Monitor and control all expenditure within the CSD division xe2x80xa2 Cash flow and working capital management xe2x80xa2 Preparation of the monthly management report packs and sales and marketing reports xe2x80xa2 Provisions and accrual management and control xe2x80xa2 Ensure a robust staff attraction, retention and reward strategy xe2x80xa2 Build and continue building a team culture that ensures absolute alignment to the greater goals of the business xe2x80xa2 Ensure constructive performance management processes that is aimed at growing people xe2x80xa2 Ensure that adequate training and development of staff is driven xe2x80xa2 Drive the Unitrans brand into the market and maintain presence xe2x80xa2 Ensure that corporate brand identity is protected. xe2x80xa2 Effective PR and communications into the market xe2x80xa2 Drive all internal and external marketing campaigns
