Well-established, market leading steel stockist based in Gauteng is looking a Business Development Manager/ Officer who will be responsible for developing and implementing the Company sales and marketing strategy to achieve challenging growth targets.

This role reports to the MD and will be a key member of the executive team delivering shareholder value and achieving the companys business goals.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for achieving aggressive revenue targets through the following:

• Together with the executive management team, develop the medium- and long-term go-to-market strategy including process of customer acquisition.
• Growing the companys footprint into new markets, regions, and products.
• Developing strategic partnerships with major consumers of flat steel products in South Africa in line with the overall business strategy and revenue targets.
• Acquiring and processing key market information to enhance strategic decision making.
• Develop the Revenue Budget per target sector, region, and product lines.
• Responsible for achieving revenue targets.
• Hands-on approach to motivating and developing a sales team in executing the companys sales strategy.
• Oversee a data driven approach to setting of pricing and product portfolio strategy by leading rigorous market research initiatives to support these decisions.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Engineering Degree
• Other technical Degree (advantage)
• Sales related courses / certificates / diploma's
• 15+ years proven leadership experience, with previous company-wide commercial sales and marketing responsibility within the steel industry.
• Successful track record of implementing a commercial sales strategy and achieving multi-year double digit revenue growth in a related steel sector in South Africa.
• Proven exposure to leading a team of 5-10 sales team members.
• Superior proficiency in using Advanced Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent knowledge and experience with using electronic marketing and lead generation tools.

Remuneration: R1,000,000 to R1,500,000 p.a. Cost To Company depending on qualifications and experience
