Business Development Manager

Job Overview



Drive business growth and revenue by acquiring new clients for BEE verification services. Focus on identifying opportunities, formulating strategies to enhance market share, and positioning the agency as a trusted world class provider of BEE compliance and verification solutions.

Key Responsibilities



1.Business Development & Sales



Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve business targets. Identify new business opportunities and markets for BEE verification services. Generate leads, cold call potential customers, and foster relationships with prospective clients. Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations and proposals to clients.

2. Client Relationship Management



Maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure retention and repeat business. Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries related to BEE verification processes. Gather client feedback and provide recommendations to improve service offerings.

3.Market Research & Strategy



Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, B-BBEE legislation, and competitor activities. Identify opportunities to expand product offerings or introduce complementary services. Collaborate with leadership to develop pricing strategies and service models.

4.Collaboration & Cross-functional Coordination



Work closely with technical verification teams to ensure alignment on client deliverables. Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional strategies and materials. Ensure accurate reporting of sales activities, pipelines, and forecasting.

5.Regulatory and Compliance Awareness



Maintain a thorough understanding of B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice, Sector Codes, and related legislation. Advise clients on B-BBEE scorecard elements and opportunities for improvement.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)



Achievement of sales and revenue targets. Growth in new client acquisitions and retention rates. Client satisfaction and feedback scores. Number of sales presentations, proposals delivered, and conversion rates. Accurate and timely reporting of sales activities and forecasts.

Skills and Competencies



Strong understanding of B-BBEE legislation, verification processes, and compliance requirements. Proven track record of sales success and business development in a similar or related field. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Relationship management and customer service expertise. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities. Strong organisational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications and Experience



Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field. 3-5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client management, preferably in BEE services or a related compliance/regulatory environment. Familiarity with the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice and sector-specific charters. Proficiency in CRM tools and MS Office suite.
