A global digital marketing leader is hiring a driven Business Development Executive to grow revenue through new and existing client relationships, mainly at C-suite level.The role suits a high-energy, self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.POSITION INFO:
Duties and responsibilities:
Research:

  • The company approaches each industry with a different strategy or route to market. These are defined by in-depth research prior to strategy formulation. The ideal candidate will be required to deliver research presentations to the company Executive team.
  • Research digital communication trends pertaining to specific industries, providing feedback on trends aligning to the companys strategic growth areas.
  • Potential clients provide an understanding of whether they currently use any digital communication products and if not could they benefit from doing so. If they do currently utilise a competitors services understand any challenges they have.
  • Industry competitors acquire an in-depth understanding of the products they provide to clients. Collating competitor price points and client pain points.
  • Understanding current innovation the technology industry is a fast moving evolutionary market and the company intends keeping ahead of direct competitors. Require all Business Development managers to retain a keen passion for technology innovation.
Business Development Planning:
  • Present to and consult with the National Business Development
on business trends with a view to developing new markets and distribution channels. * Identify business sales channels that will lead to business opportunities.
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the companys unique selling propositions and differentiators.
  • Present quarterly Business Development Strategy presentations to the National Business Development Director,
and Senior Management. * Defining new business strategies per existing networks network
Business Development:
  • Following up on leads provided by Head Office.
  • Generating your own leads through industry knowledge, cold calling, referrals and tenders.
  • Networking via industry conferences, client conferences, online networking platforms and research groups.
  • Pitching to clients and prospective clients this is a key criteria for the role.
  • Creating client specific presentations in Power Point. A template will be provided.
  • Writing proposals, Scope or Works, SLA agreements and Business plans.
  • Winning tenders.
  • Attending weekly update meetings with the wider Business Development team.
  • Managing an updating revenue and opportunity trackers on a weekly basis.
  • Holding Handover and New Solutions Briefs with all relevant departments.
Pipeline Management:
  • Identifying and assessing business development opportunities.
  • Tracking all opportunities through pre-defined phases in the opportunities tracker.
  • Understanding prospective client challenges and designing a solution to overcome them in order to progress opportunities.
  • Gaining commitment to move current or future business to the company.
  • Processing of accepted quotes.
Client relationship management and communication:
  • Overseeing Service Matrix Management to ensure all the company departments interact with each other to provide the appropriate service according to the contract and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Annual client business growth strategy to be defined and captured in an annual budget at the end of May each year.
  • Account Management tracking for each network.
  • Relationship Matrix to ensure that right stakeholders are meeting regularly to enhancing the client relationship.
  • Innovation workshops to be held annual with key clients.
General:
  • Training On the job.
  • Travel client meetings (local / national). Must have own car and a drivers licence.
  • Reporting to National Business Development Director on progress and issues.
  • Growing and nurturing client relationships.
  • Attending sales strategy sessions in South Africa (4 times a year).
  • Working with 3rd party service providers to ensure world class services are delivered to clients.
Requirements:
  • Matric but preferably a Diploma or Degree.
  • Digital Communication industry knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and quality of work.
  • The ability to perform duties unsupervised.
  • Personal organisation skills.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Able to use own initiative.
  • Project planning skills.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point.
