, an established commodity research firm based in Cape Town, is seeking a motivated and resilient

Business Development Executive

to drive client acquisition & revenue growth.

This is a

hands-on, performance-driven sales role

in a dynamic, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. You'll take full ownership of expanding our client base through proactive outbound efforts--including cold calling, targeted email outreach, persistent follow-up, lead generation, networking, and strategic prospecting.

In return, you'll earn a

base salary

(dependent on experience and skills)

+ incentive bonuses

based directly on sales performance. Additionally, you will gain an

in-depth knowledge of commodity markets

and a practical understanding of how the global and local economies work.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Economics, Business, or a related field (preferred for executive-level credibility; substantial relevant experience may substitute)

3-5 years of proven B2B sales or business development experience (ideally in subscriptions, information services, financial products, research, or consultative selling)

Demonstrated success in cold outreach/prospecting, pipeline management, negotiation, objection handling, and closing complex deals

Excellent business writing abilities for proposals, follow-ups, and client correspondence

Genuine passion for the South African economy, current affairs, and commodities to enable informed, value-driven conversations

Self-motivated, target-oriented, resilient, and comfortable operating independently in a results-focused setting
