About the Role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a proactive and technically inclined Business Developer to join a fast-growing SaaS company. The role is focused on identifying and securing new business opportunities with a core emphasis on AML (Anti-Money Laundering) sanction screening solutions and, in the long term, promoting a broader suite of compliance and training platforms.
You will engage prospective clients, deliver high-impact product presentations, and support the full business development cycle-from lead generation to post-sale engagement. This position is best suited for someone with a passion for B2B SaaS sales, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with confidence and clarity.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and pursue new B2B sales opportunities to meet or exceed monthly targets.
Conduct outbound sales calls and respond to inbound leads to generate and nurture business opportunities.
Present and demonstrate software solutions confidently to potential clients.
Provide pre- and post-sale technical advice on AML screening software and compliance products.
Collaborate with internal teams and provide support where necessary.
Represent the business at industry events and client meetings.
Respond to RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs in a timely and professional manner.
Prepare accurate quotes and proposals, and negotiate terms with prospective clients.
Ensure excellent customer service and after-sales support.
Technical & Soft Skills Required:
Proven experience in SaaS or software-related B2B sales
Strong knowledge of CRM platforms and lead tracking
Technically inclined with the ability to understand and explain software features
Advanced computer literacy (macOS experience is advantageous)
Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to engage with executive-level clients
Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Self-driven, persuasive, and goal-oriented
Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
Reliable internet access for work
Valid driver's license and own vehicle (occasional travel required)
Work Model:
Hybrid model: Primarily work-from-home with fortnightly in-person meetings in Cape Town.
Candidates must be Cape Town-based
