A smaller business of around 50 people, in a much larger listed financial group, offers the best of both worlds for its employees, offering a small, personal & intimate team to work in, within a large corporate.

The company offers bespoke funding solutions to institutions seeking term debt funding and actively participates in larger, complex debt transactions.

They offer Trading, Treasury, & Asset Liability management; Asset origination, and Risk & Capital management.

The role

As a Business Analyst, you will be a critical member of our organization's Technology team. Your primary responsibility will be to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring that projects are delivered successfully and on time. By analysing and translating business requirements into actionable insights, you will play a key role in optimizing processes, improving efficiency, and driving strategic initiatives. Your expertise in data analysis and communication will be crucial in fostering collaboration between stakeholders, project managers, and development teams.

Key Result Areas:

Requirement Gathering and Analysis:

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, managers, and subject matter experts, to elicit and document detailed business requirements.
• Analyze and interpret complex data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process improvements.
• Conduct feasibility studies and impact analyses to evaluate potential project solutions.
• Documents requirements including data modelling, interface layouts, data flows, screen and report layouts.

Business Process Optimisation:

• Evaluate existing business processes, systems, and workflows to identify inefficiencies and areas for enhancement.
• Propose innovative solutions and process improvements to streamline operations and achieve business objectives.
• Develop and present business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and recommendations to support decision-making.

Solution Design and Documentation:

• Collaborate with IT and development teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications and technical documentation where required.
• Ensure clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation of business rules, use cases, and system requirements.

Project Management Support:

• Assist project managers in planning, monitoring, and controlling project activities.
• Participate in project meetings, providing valuable insights and status updates to stakeholders.
• Proactively identify risks and issues and propose mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Testing and Quality Assurance:

• Collaborate with testing teams to develop test plans and test cases that align with business requirements.
• Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate that solutions meet business needs and quality standards.

Change Management and Implementation Support:

• Assist in developing change management strategies and training materials for end-users.
• Support end-users during the implementation phase, addressing their queries and concerns.

Production Support:

• Provide production support to the business, investigating and identifying root causes for unexpected occurrences.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree
• Relevant tertiary training in Business Analysis
• 5+ years as a Business Analyst or similar role in a business or IT environment
• Exposure to investment environments, asset management, Asset liability management, trading desks, treasury or debt financing environments would be a great advantage
• Proficiency in data modelling, process mapping, and business process improvement methodologies
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Knowledge of relevant software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and data analysis tools.
