Purpose of the Job

The Bulk Stock Accountant is primarily responsible for applying principles of cost accounting to the entire bulk stock process across
nine RSA divisions in the Meat Imports business unit. Key responsibilities include financial administration and reporting; identifying,
analysing and reconciling any discrepancies and/or queries; liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the availability
of stock; as well as overseeing the Order, Receiving and Accounts Clerks.

Job Objectives

1. Report on bulk stock for all cold stores weekly, with a specific focus on shrinkage and order reconciliation.
2. Ensure that purchases and transfers documentation are completed accurately to avoid costing errors.
3. Monitor and inform Divisional Managers of any obsolete stock.
4. Monitor pricing changes in the Meat Market industry weekly.
5. Conduct weekly cost, breakeven and variance analyses as it relates to bulk stock.
6. Identify, analyse and reconcile any bulk store discrepancies and/or queries.
7. Advise Divisional Managers on products and pricing.
8. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency in the entire bulk stock process.

Bulk Stock Logistics;

1. Identify and contract with transportation service providers monthly.
2. Negotiate rates with transportation service providers to minimise costs.
3. Build and maintain relationships with transportation service providers.

Financial Administration and Reporting;

1. Apply principles of cost accounting to bulk stock purchases and sales

2. Reconcile general ledger accounts and aged trial balance.
3. Assist with internal and external audits relating to bulk tock.
4. Monitor and reconcile creditors transactions.
5. Monitor and reconcile debtors transactions.
6. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to resolve transactional queries.
7. Compile monthly bulk stock reports for management, and identify significant trends.
8. Monitor the Gross Profit Margin of all divisions, and highlight any concerns.
9. Document and maintain all current bulk stock procedures.
10. Prepare annual bulk stock budgets, and forecast based on previous performance and inflation.
11. Perform weekly stock valuations, and resolve any price and/or stock discrepancies.
Clerk Supervision
1. Oversee Order, Receiving and Accounts Clerks' responsibilities.
2. Ensure Order, Receiving and Accounts Clerks' responsibilities are performed accurately.

Imports and Exports;

1. Source local stock to avoid unavailability in stores.
2. Liaise with the Department of Trade and Industry regarding import permits and loading.
3. Determine expert stock selling prices by assessing market research and incurred costs.
4. Ensure all relevant documentation is completed and received from the export cold store.
5. Ensure the export stock is prepared at the time of the loading.
6. Negotiate prices with local suppliers.

Qualifications

Essential: xe2x80xa2 CIMA - Chartered Institute of Management
Experience

Essential:

• SAP

• Strong accounting experience

• Problem solving 3-4 years

Knowledge and Skills

Essential:

• Knowledge of SAP

• Knowledge of Accounting principles

• Computer literacy: MS Office xe2x80x93 Advance Excel
