Job Description

Overall Responsibility:





The key purpose of this role is the operation of the manual brewing plant and process not associated with PLC control, the execution of autonomous maintenance activities. The Brewing Operator also supports the Brewing Process Operator in the execution of quality control checks, and some PLC assisted processes.




Focus Area 1





Shift based production performance and processes


Operate designated plant and equipment Monitor and record specific production processes on shift [brewing sub dept. specific] Maintain notes regarding recipe changes and adjustment additions Accurately follow recipes and accurately measure all stored grains Ensure process quality and productivity Ensure and maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to SHP safety standards Maintain all tools/equipment and cooperate with maintenance department on large scale maintenance performances Carry out autonomous maintenance (cleaning & lubrication) Apply basic hygiene and sanitation and adhere to food safety related rules and activities as per factory instructions Perform Food Safety and Quality related activities as part of the FSMS and QC functions Maintain sanitation standards, in accordance with policies, to provide a clean and food safe work environment (CIP and 5S standards) Assist Brewing Process Operator when problem solving and decision-making techniques and principles Carry out 5S tasks a sper Pillar design Support the team in implementing the Manufacturing excellence program

Collaborate and communicate effectively in the workplace with all teams in all departments and leadership staff Take part in routine shift team meetings and shift handovers as per Teamwork pillar Contribute to self and team development



Focus Area 3





Perform administration


Ensure the application and adherence to the administration systems and procedures Maintain documentation of a variety of activities and inventories through computer or paper systems



Requirements of the Role




Matric Certificate Basic skills with computer applications, to include Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn and use new computer programs No experience required and FMCG/industry experience would be advantageous Willingness to further studies and drive self-development Reliable mode of transport for shiftwork




Preferred Skills/Competencies


Ability to multi-task Must be willing to work alongside your team including long days, on rotating or varying shifts (days, evenings, and nights) as well as overtime, weekend, or holiday work Demonstrate mathematical competency Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals
