Breakfast Chef - The Great White House Restaurant, Gansbaai, Western Cape

The Great White House, a premium seaside hospitality establishment in

Gansbaai

, is seeking an experienced

Breakfast Chef

to lead our breakfast kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, cook, and present high-quality breakfast dishes including a la carte, buffet, and freshly baked items

Manage and oversee daily breakfast buffet and breakfast service for tourism boat

Supervise, train, and lead breakfast kitchen staff

Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, portion control, and service standards

Maintain excellent hygiene, food safety, and HACCP compliance

Manage mise-en-place, stock control, and minimize waste

Work closely with the Head Chef and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service

Requirements:

1-2 years' experience as a Breakfast Chef, Line Cook, or similar role

Proven experience in buffet-style breakfast service (hotel/lodge experience advantageous)

Culinary qualification and Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate (preferred)

Strong leadership, organisational, and time-management skills

Ability to perform under pressure and manage high-volume breakfast service

Willingness to relocate to Gansbaai (own transport advantageous)
