Job Description


A global generic pharmaceutical company is seeking a Brand Manager to assume the end-to-end responsibility for the successful launch and commercialization of a new medical device within the South African market from a scientific and marketing perspective.

Responsibilities:

  • Project and product leader for the Medical Device and coordinates all cross-functional efforts to successfully deliver on the commercial launch and growth strategy
  • Funders- engages with funders to secure reimbursement for product
  • Key external experts - scientific data generation and dissemination
  • Scientific societies - identify and leverage opportunities to partner with scientific societies to increase share of voice of the company within scientific community
  • Key Accounts - Regularly engages with key accounts to ensure fulfilment of prescriptions and optimal customer care.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of medical devices regulations in South Africa
  • Knowledge of new launch process
  • Knowledge of funding landscape in South Africa
  • Key Account Management

  • Demonstrate personal purpose in improving the patient journey, as well as a strong passion to bring value and impact to the healthcare ecosystem.
  • System thinking abilities to oversee patient journeys in their entirety and leverage shared purposes of stakeholders to co-create solutions within the ecosystem.
  • A true visionary, defining and embedding the strategy around creating better health outcomes for more patients faster, bringing a strong entrepreneurial mentality with outstanding partnering capabilities (coaching, consulting, ability to deeply listen, question and understand).
  • Aspirational growth mindset: Ability to take calculated risks which will results in improved brand performance and growth, to ensure the product grows to its full potential.
  • Demonstrate agility in work and comfortable to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with a great deal of ambiguity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team - across different departments and also cross-culturally. Can assume both a leadership role within the team as well as a more operationally focused role.
  • Takes initiative and is known to be a self-starter. Comfortable with self-guided learning.
Qualification and experience:
  • MSc or PhD in Medical Sciences
  • At least 3 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a marketing or medical affairs role within pharma or prescription-based medical devices
  • Advanced data analytics capabilities will be an advantage
  • Clinical research experience will be an advantage
  • Qualification or experience in complex project management - required
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience with patient journey mapping
  • Experience in launching innovative assets
  • Willingness to travel 20% of time
