Job Summary
Our Client, operating in the Pharmaceutical space, is seeking to employ a Brand Manager to their team based in Parktown Johannesburg.
The Brand Manager is responsible for executing marketing strategies targeted at doctors, specialists, and other healthcare professionals (HCPs). This role owns all professional / medical marketing for assigned brands - including detailing, clinical positioning with Medical Team, CME/CPD (Continuing Medical Education) initiatives, and KOL (Key Opinion Leaders) engagement - ensuring that our clients brands remain trusted, evidence-based choices in the prescription space.
Requirements:

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a medically related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience managing prescription (Rx) brands.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance (SAHPRA or equivalent).
  • Proven ability in KOL (Key Opinion Leader) management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and market insights.
  • Strong project management and campaign execution skills.
  • Excellent clinical communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
Doctor Marketing Strategy
  • Execute prescription brand marketing plans aligned with strategic objectives.
  • Build clinical positioning using clear, evidence-based claims.
  • Collaborate with medical teams to ensure compliance and scientific accuracy.
HCP-Engagement
  • Develop and implement detailing strategies and high-quality in-field materials (detail aids, leave-behinds, objection handlers).
  • Organize CME/CPD events, advisory boards, and symposia.
  • Manage Key Opinion Leader (KOL) relationships and advocacy programs.
  • Leverage digital detailing platforms to design, manage, and track closed-loop detail aids for effective HCP engagement.
Insights & Market Intelligence
  • Monitor and analyse prescription data, competitor activity, and healthcare professional feedback.
  • Use insights to refine marketing campaigns and uncover growth opportunities.
  • Translate digital detailing insights into actionable field strategies.
Cross-Functional Alignment
  • Collaborate with Sales, Medical, and Regulatory teams for seamless execution.
  • Provide tools and training to sales representatives for effective brand messaging.
Compliance
  • Ensure all prescription marketing and engagement activities adhere to regulations, ethical standards, and industry codes.
