Job Description

The Role:

We are seeking an

experienced Hydraulic Specialist

with strong leadership and management skills to take on the role of

Branch Manager

at our Camperdown branch. This role is first and foremost about

technical excellence in hydraulics

- from pumps, valves, hoses, and fittings through to complete system solutions. The successful candidate must bring deep hydraulic knowledge and expertise to guide teams, support customers, and ensure that the highest standards of hydraulic service, repair, and manufacturing are consistently delivered. Alongside this technical leadership, the role also carries responsibility for managing branch operations, supervising onsite contract staff, and driving sales growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the

hydraulic technical authority

for the branch, providing expert guidance on systems, components, troubleshooting, and repair. Manage and mentor technicians and

onsite contract staff

, ensuring work is completed to the highest hydraulic service standards. Lead continuous improvement initiatives in hydraulic service delivery, aiming to

exceed customer expectations

. Oversee and grow

hydraulic manufacturing, repair, and distribution processes

, ensuring technical excellence and quality control. Provide technical support directly to customers, helping solve complex hydraulic challenges. Drive

regional sales growth

by leveraging technical expertise to build trust and long-term customer relationships. Oversee daily branch operations, including procurement, stock management, and supply chain processes. Ensure all work adheres to strict health and safety protocols. Manage branch budgets, profitability, and financial performance while keeping the focus on technical service quality. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, stakeholders, and the wider hydraulic business network.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years'

hands-on experience in hydraulics

, ideally in system design, repair, or industrial hydraulic distribution. Proven ability to

diagnose, repair, and improve hydraulic systems and components

(pumps, valves, cylinders, hose assemblies, etc.). Strong technical leadership skills with the ability to guide, train, and supervise both in-house technicians and contract staff. Solid management and operational experience, with the ability to run a branch while keeping technical standards as the top priority. Demonstrated success in growing sales by building technical credibility and strong customer relationships. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in relevant business and inventory management systems.
