Job Description

The Branch Inspector and Investigator is responsible for conducting both

branch audits

and

fraud investigations

to ensure compliance, integrity, and operational efficiency across the organization. This role is key to maintaining sound governance by verifying adherence to internal controls, identifying risks, and addressing incidents of fraud or misconduct.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct scheduled branch audits and inspections to assess compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards, and legal requirements. Prepare detailed audit reports, communicate findings, and monitor the implementation of corrective actions. Lead and execute investigations into suspected fraud, theft, or unethical activities, from case assessment through to final reporting. Collect and analyse evidence, conduct interviews, and document all findings in accordance with internal protocols and legal standards. Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure timely resolution of issues and strengthen internal controls. Maintain accurate and secure documentation of all audits and investigations. Provide input on process improvements, risk mitigation, and compliance awareness initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

Matric (essential). A related qualification in Risk Management, Accounting, Law, Forensic Investigation, or Compliance (advantageous). Minimum of

2 years' experience

in the financial services industry, with exposure to fraud investigations and/or compliance. Strong analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills. Knowledge of fraud detection, forensic accounting, and regulatory compliance practices. High attention to detail, integrity, and confidentiality. Willingness to travel extensively and work independently.
