A bookseller is the first person a potential customer encounters when entering any of the Wordsworth Stores. First impressions do count, and each bookseller needs to ensure that they follow the below responsibilities and guidelines to convert each potential customer into a regular customer.
Greet and establish a rapport with customers, answering questions, engaging in conversations about our store, inventory, services, and community.
Aid customers in locating books within our inventory, as well as special ordering books not currently in-stock.
Deal with inquiries and attempt to provide accurate answers regarding book titles and author names.
Provide customers with suggestions on which books to read according to their interests.
Complete customer sales as a cashier in a fast and kind manner.
Provide customers with information on book release dates and availability.
Assist customers in locating books within the bookstore or escort them to their required aisles.
Process book reservations and provide customers with information on book reservation requirements.
Take payments for books and supplies sold - process checks, credit cards, and debit cards.
Process invoices and balance cash register at the end of each shift.
Cross sell and upsell stock in store.
Should there be a campaign occurring - promote the sale.
