Bookkeeper - Property Sector

Salary: R25 000 per month (negotiable depending on experience)
A well-established property management company is seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day financial recordkeeping and ensure the smooth functioning of its accounting processes. This is a hands-on role requiring accuracy, initiative, and a solid understanding of bookkeeping best practices within a dynamic business environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Diploma or certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related field
At least 4 years of experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably in the property or real estate industry
Proficiency in Xero (or similar accounting software)
Strong understanding of general accounting principles and SARS compliance
Experience in bank reconciliations, supplier recons, VAT submissions, and monthly reporting
High level of accuracy, with excellent attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Good communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records and perform regular reconciliations (bank, supplier, debtor)
Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments
Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations
Assist with cash flow tracking and monthly financial reporting
Support payroll input and leave tracking
Monitor accounts payable and receivable
Prepare documentation for audits and liaise with external accountants where required
Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls
