Job Summary My client is a dynamic and growing investment firm. They are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their finance team.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting various financial tasks within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Cash Management:

  • Process cash book transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements regularly.
Petty Cash:
  • Manage petty cash transactions.
  • Perform regular reconciliations of petty cash.
Creditors Management:
  • Create purchase orders and process supplier invoices.
  • Reconcile creditors' accounts, including inter-company creditors.
  • Handle remittances for payments.
Foreign Payments:
  • Load foreign payments accurately.
Debtors Management:
  • Generate and send invoices to clients.
  • Reconcile debtors' accounts, including inter-company debtors.
  • Process remittances.
General Ledger:
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger.
  • Handle inter-company loans.
Journals Entries:
  • Prepare and process journal entries with supporting documents.
  • Cover areas such as depreciation, payroll, provisions, accruals, and inter-company transactions.
Fixed Asset Management:
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Manage the Capex file.
VAT Compliance:
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns on SARS efiling.
  • Compile VAT audit packs for SARS.
Statutory Payments:
  • Load payments for statutory returns, including VAT, PAYE, Workmenxe2x80x99s Compensation, Income Tax.
Payroll Reconciliations:
  • Reconcile payroll-related accounts, e.g., Medical Aid, Provident Fund.
Administration:
  • Handle filing and administrative functions for financial records.
  • Adhere to the clean desk policy.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the Financial Accountant and CFO to ensure timely and accurate financial tasks completion.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial reports, including monthly statements and year-end documentation.
Financial Projects:
  • Assist the Financial Accountant, CFO, and other team members with various financial projects as required.
Stock Audits:
  • Conduct periodic stock audits.
Flexibility:
  • Be flexible to take on additional responsibilities as per business requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Diploma/Degree in Bookkeeping or Finance related.
  • 4 years proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role.
  • Proficient in Pastel Evolution and Microsoft Excel.
