This role is ideal for a highly organized professional with at least 3 years of bookkeeping experience, strong attention to detail, and expertise in bookkeeping software such as Xero. As part of a fast-paced scale-up, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the company's financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Financial Records
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
Process and reconcile bank transactions, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including invoicing, expense tracking, and payments.
Ensure all financial transactions are properly documented and categorized.
Month-End and Year-End Processes
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including balance sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow reports.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Support the Finance Manager with month-end and year-end closing processes.
Payroll & VAT Compliance
Process payroll and ensure accurate recording of salaries, benefits, and deductions.
Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
Maintain compliance with tax requirements and support tax filings where needed.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
Generate financial reports to provide insights into business performance.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes by maintaining financial data accuracy.
Assist in preparing reports for senior management and external stakeholders.
Software & Process Management
Utilize bookkeeping software such as
Xero
and other relevant tools to streamline financial processes.
Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement in financial operations.
Ensure best practices are followed in financial record-keeping and reporting.
Person Specification:
We are looking for a candidate who is:
Experienced:
Minimum of
3 years' experience
in bookkeeping, preferably in a fast-growing company or scale-up environment.
Tech-Savvy:
Proficiency in
Xero
is essential; experience with other bookkeeping and accounting software is a plus.
