Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Bookkeeper to undertake the role of capturing and maintaining accurate financial records for our growing e-commerce start-up. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, be proficient in bookkeeping software, specifically Xero and have excellent attention to detail. This is a Hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:
Capture financial records from bank statements, invoices and credit notes received, payments made and prepares journals to address any anomalies appropriately;
Liaise with creditors to obtain copies of older invoices where required
Review VAT returns for anomalies and submit corrections
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in accounting or related qualification
At least 1 year of experience in bookkeeping, preferably in an FMCG environment
Proficiency in Xero, Google Workspace and advanced knowledge of Excel is essential, experience using Dext or other OCR scanning software is a bonus
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
SA citizenship or valid work permit
Remote working set-up, including fibre
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: R10000,00 - R15000,00 per month
