Bookkeeper / Accountant (immediately available)

Our client in the gaming industry is on the hunt for a well-rounded bookkeeper to join their dynamic team at their Head Office in Montague Gardens. If you thrive under pressure and love building relationships, we want to hear from year.

Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum of 5-year experience as a Bookkeeper/Accountant

National Diploma in Bookkeeping will be an advantage

Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word)

Must have experience with Pastel Accounting

Must be fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English)

Must have own transport and valid driver's license.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping

Accounting to Trial Balance, which will include:

- Journal entries

- Reconciliation of loan accounts

- Bank reconciliations

- Debtors' reconciliations

- VAT reconciliations

- Supplier invoicing

Payroll

- Monthly processing of salaries

Statutory & Compliance

- Completion and submission of VAT returns

- Completion and submission of PAYE

- Completion and submission of UIF declarations

- Completion and submission of EMP501 to SARS

- Completion and submission of ROE/WCA

Administration & other tasks:

- Answering of the telephones

- General office housekeeping

- Keeping administrative databases up to date

- Filing of administrative documentation (to be kept orderly and safe)

- Preparation of monthly management accounts

- Preparation of year-end audit files for the auditor

- Ensuring proper controls and procedures are in place to protect company data

- General ad hoc tasks
