Bookkeeper Distribution / Transport / Logistics / Supply Chain ~ Retail
Cape Town - Western Cape - South Africa
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join a dynamic team in the retail sector. This role will be responsible for managing cash flow, reconciling bank accounts, and submitting statutory returns with a particular focus on warehousing and logistics reporting.
Key Qualifications:
- BCom Degree is essential.
- 2 -3 years of experience as a bookkeeper
- 2 -3 years of administrative experience
- 2-3 years of experience with Pastel
- Warehousing and logistics reporting/accounting experience would be an advantage.
- PC Literacy Excel intermediate level required.
- Pastel Accounting qualification and experience
- Strong numerical reasoning abilities
- Exceptional organisational skills and a high degree of accuracy
- Daily download and reconciliation of bank statements
- Noting and investigating all unreconciled items
- Regular liaising with accounts receivable and payable departments for receipts and payments
- Communication with the bank for unidentified transactions
- Daily reporting on reconciliations to Line Manager
- Timely completion and submission of statutory forms
- Follow up on payments and accurate capture of all payments and receipts
- Issue a cash flow report every Friday for the subsequent week
- Maintain and update all bank signatories and electronic releasers
