Job Description

Applying and performing accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements and ensure and perform appropriate accounting control procedures. Ensure that all queries are correctly and timeously submitted for the following: Invoicing, VAT, Salaries, debtors and creditors.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

  • Accurately and timeously reconcile Debtor accounts on a monthly basis and ensure timeous payments of Debtors
  • Accurately track monthly claims and outstanding retention payments for project invoicing
  • Accurately and timeously reconcile Creditor accounts on a monthly basis
  • Capture all Accounting transactions efficiently and accurately on QuickBooks, Xero and e-Works and prepare financial reports as needed by management
  • Accurately and timeously prepare and submit Salaries, VAT, PAYE, PSIRA & WCA payments & claims
  • Accurately capture HR information such as leave days and all other info on Sage Payroll on a monthly basis
  • Provide HR support in terms of staff disciplinary process and welfare aspects
  • Manage, oversee and support office admin staff and ensure efficient and effective team work
  • Manage company assets such as vehicles and tools by conducting vehicle and tool checks
  • Check and reconcile all timesheets on a weekly basis on Jarrison Time
  • Administrative support of a high level with quality and accurate outcomes
  • Manage telephone and email enquiries in a timely, efficient and professional manner
  • Protect company physical and intellectual property assets and ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times
  • Follow all company policies and procedures and business principles
  • Escalate any unresolved problems or issues of importance to Management
  • Provide administrative support to management and other departments when needed
  • Keep up to date with better methods to improve your performance and customer service levels.
  • Ensure you are a brand ambassador, up-holding the values of the company at all times, inside and outside of work.
Qualifications:
  • National Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • Certificate or Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance (ICB, NQF Level 4+ preferred)
  • Additional qualifications in Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks (advantageous)
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience
  • Proven experience in:
  • Debtors and creditors
  • Invoicing and reconciliations
  • Bank statement capturing
  • VAT submissions and SARS eFiling
  • Payroll experience (e.g., SimplePay, Sage Payroll, PaySpace) is a plus
Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
