Job Opportunity:

Boilermaker - Screenex - Market Related Rate (RSA)

Key Responsibilities:

Lay out plate, sheet steel, or other heavy metal and locate and mark bending and cutting lines using protractors, compasses and drawing instruments or templates. Mark reference points on construction materials. Reads blueprints to determine locations, relationships, or dimensions of parts. Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements.
Position, align, and secure structural parts or related assemblies to frames, following blueprints.

Install metal structural components. Position structural components.

Welding, grinding & working with Blow Torch where necessary. Attach rigging and signal crane or hoist operators to lift heavy frame and plate sections or other parts into place Operate cranes, hoists or other moving or lifting equipment
Follow safety rules and wear personal protective equipment provided at all times.

Maintains a safe and clean work environment.
Ensure that proper timekeeping is done on every job.

Ensuring all jobs have paperwork and material are booked to it accurately

Ensuring stock are kept accurate and reported to Stock Manager

Uses hand and power tools and heavy machinery.

Follows written and verbal instructions from managers.

Boilermaker Qualifications and Skills:

Follows written and verbal instructions.

Collaborates with coworkers and has strong interpersonal skills. Communicates effectively and has strong verbal communication skills. Demonstrates strong project management and time management skills. Learns quickly and has strong math, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending, and lifting.

Education and Experience Requirements:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Trade-tested Boilermaker qualification (Red Seal preferred) Strong welding and metal skills (MIG, TIG, ARC). Ability to work from technical drawings. Experience in mining or heavy industrial environment will be an advantage At least 5 - 10 years of experience is preferred. Must be 30 - 45 years of age.
