PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Blockman responsibilities will include quality inspections, use of meat grinders, knives, saws, and other tools to cut meat down into smaller portions, weigh, price, and package cuts, and ensure that displays and signage are attractive and eye-catching. You will also speak to customers to determine their needs, provide advice regarding proper cuts of meat and preparation methods, and coordinate pickups or deliveries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Meat Processing

• Cutting, grinding, and preparing meats for sale.
• Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment.
• Weighing, packaging, pricing, and displaying products.
• Performing quality inspections on meats and other products.

Customer Service

• Ensuring displays and signage are accurate and attractive.
• Greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, and accepting orders.

Teamwork

• Support department managers and co employees.
• Actively participate as a member of the team
• Performing any other task, not specified herein, which from time to time may be assigned by the manager.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
?Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
?Proven experience of at least 3 years in similar positions, with a preference for experience within the FMCG Retail industry.
?Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and cuts.
COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
?Building and maintaining relationships with strong interpersonal skills - living out the company values and unique HO HOLA culture.
?Friendly, helpful, confident yet humble, and able to work well in a team.
?Ability to work in a highly competitive, fast past and dynamic environment.
?Ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal).
?Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft.
?Strong communication skills
?Accuracy and attention to detail.
