We're available in more than 40 countries around the world and we work closely with respective regulators in all of these markets to be fully compliant, as we believe this is the best way to help everyone, everywhere, invest safely.About the team:The Blockchain Architect will be part of Luno's InfoSec team, which focuses on areas such as Security Governance, Cyber Defence, Cloud Security, and broader strategic initiatives that ensure the safety and integrity of our platforms and products.The role in a nutshell:The Blockchain Architect is a critical role at the intersection of blockchain technology and business strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of blockchain protocols, smart contract development, and decentralised application architecture. The Blockchain Architect will design and oversee the implementation of blockchain solutions that meet the specific needs of the organisation, while ensuring security, scalability, and regulatory compliance.Your mission will be:

• Blockchain Solution Design: Lead the design of blockchain-based solutions, including system architecture, data models, and smart contracts.
• Technology review: Evaluate appropriate blockchain platforms and tools, considering factors such as scalability, security, and performance.
• Smart Contract Improvements: Lead the design, improvements and testing of smart contracts to automate business processes and enforce contractual agreements where applicable.
• System Integration: Review Integration with current and new blockchain solutions to ensure seamless data flow and interoperability.
• Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures to protect blockchain systems from unauthorised access and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
• Performance & Optimisation: Monitor and propose optimisations to blockchain systems and performance to ensure high availability and scalability.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to gather requirements and deliver blockchain solutions.
• Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in blockchain technology and provide thought leadership to the organisation.
• Mentorship: Guide and mentor other developers and engineers on blockchain development best practices.

A little about you:

• Deep understanding of blockchain technology and protocols.
• Experience in smart contract development/Auditing and decentralised application architecture.
• Strong knowledge of cryptography and data security.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
