We are currently accepting applications for the following position located in the Emalahleni, Mpumalanga area.

Blaster

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, leading and controlling all blasting activities in the Opencast Operations.

In this role you will be responsible for:

Adhering to mine's procedures in execution of all blasting activities.
Maintaining Health, Safety, Environmental and Production requirements.
Being cost effective and meeting deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Grade 12.
Opencast blasting certificate.
Magazine Master Certificate (SA Police Service - Explosives) will be advantageous.
Drivers' License (Code EB/08)

Minimum Experience:

Minimum 7 years' opencast mining experience of which 1 year should be at a Blast Controller / Magazine Master level.

Behavioural Competencies:

Ability to carefully and objectively analyses and evaluate information to inform decisions and key actions.
Ability to apply practical skills and common sense to solve problems and deliver accountabilities.
Ability to stay calm and focused on the task at hand under pressure.
