Join our team as a Billing & Eligibility Specialist supporting US-based ABA therapy services. You will assist with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and billing administration to ensure smooth operations and accurate reimbursement processes.
PLEASE NOTE:

• Working Hours: Monday - Friday | 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST (4:00 PM - 01:00 AM South African time - subject to daylight savings).
• Public Holidays: This role requires working on both South African and U.S. public holidays (compensation for SA public holidays in accordance with the BCEA).
• Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and wired Ethernet capability is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
• Power Backup: Reliable backup required to manage load shedding or outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.
• Work Environment: Fully remote.

Job Responsibilities:

• Contact insurance companies to verify patient eligibility and benefits.
• Confirm and follow up on prior authorizations.
• Accurately update and maintain insurance information in the system.
• Identify and report any discrepancies or issues.
• Provide administrative support to the billing team as needed.
• Draft clear, polite, and professional communications.
• Maintain accurate records of insurance and billing activities.

Requirements:

• Industry Experience (Required):

• Previous experience in medical billing, eligibility verification, or insurance coordination.
• Familiarity with insurance portals and authorization procedures.
• Soft Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Calm, professional, and able to handle sensitive situations.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Technical Skills:

• Basic computer skills, including MS Office and Outlook.
• Comfortable navigating systems to update records accurately.
