Job Purpose



The BI Analyst I is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and insightful business intelligence (BI) solutions to support decision-making within Infrastructure & Operations (I&O) in the Group Technology (GT) cluster. This includes designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards using Power BI, ServiceNow, and Excel. The role also involves engaging stakeholders, ensuring compliance with standards, and driving continuous improvement in reporting processes. Scope may expand to other clusters or business units in the future.

Job Responsibilities


Engage with I&O stakeholders to gather feedback and requirements for reporting enhancements. Develop and maintain reports and dashboards in Power BI, ServiceNow, and Excel. Ensure timely delivery of Operational Monthly Packs, One-Pager Reports, and MANCO summaries. Manage and maintain reports on RunIT@nedbank platform. Provide client training on ServiceNow reporting functionalities. Ensure all reports meet quality standards and align with GT & I&O guidelines. Resolve reporting queries within agreed SLAs. Compile and distribute MANCO, OPCOM, and EXCO packs. Take minutes during I&O MANCO meetings and ensure accurate documentation. Handle ad hoc reporting requests and changes for I&O MANCO. Maintain proficiency in database management systems and reporting tools. Apply knowledge of programming languages for advanced data manipulation (e.g., SQL, DAX). Manage user permissions and security settings in Power BI and ServiceNow. Deliver final reporting solutions with documented customer acceptance and sign-off. Analyze data and provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Identify and implement process improvements for reporting efficiency. Facilitate brainstorming sessions with stakeholders to enhance reporting processes. Work well in teams with cross-skilling within the team. Gather data for matters arising for I&O MANCO. Compile summarized MANCO reports and distribute to I&O MANCO members.

Educational Qualifications


Matric (Gr12), National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a related field. Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Data Science, or Business Analytics preferred. Certifications in Power BI, ServiceNow Reporting, or SQL. Additional certifications in Data Visualization, Database Management, or Cloud Platforms (e.g., Azure) will be advantageous.

Minimum Experience Level


Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with Power BI, including dashboard development and data modeling. Minimun 2 years in BI, data analysis, or reporting roles. Experience with ServiceNow reporting and Excel-based reporting solutions. Exposure to IT operations and infrastructure reporting environments. Experience in stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering.

Critical Skills & Competencies


Technical Skills: Power BI, ServiceNow Reporting, Excel (Advanced), SQL, DAX, basic programming knowledge. Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication for stakeholder engagement and training. Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines. Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy and quality in all reporting outputs. Collaboration: Ability to work in cross-functional teams and share knowledge effectively.

Key Deliverables


Operational Monthly Packs and One-Pager Reports. MANCO, OPCOM, and EXCO reporting packs. Ad hoc reports and dashboards based on stakeholder requests. Training materials and sessions for ServiceNow reporting. Documented reporting solutions with customer sign-off.
