St Stithians Boys' College is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Afrikaans FAL Teacher to join our innovative Afrikaans Department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire young minds, cultivate a lasting appreciation for the language, and contribute meaningfully to a collegial environment committed to continuous improvement and academic excellence. This position which will be available from January 2026.

who meet the following requirements:


A suitable professional teaching qualification from a recognised institution and a minimum of 5 years relevant educational experience which includes teaching of Afrikaans up to Grade 12 Previous experience in an IEB school would be an advantage, as would experience in IEB Matric marking Willingness to embrace rapid changes in education and the ability to integrate IT into teaching and learning Openness to engage in

professional development opportunities

To play a role in

developing curriculum

, mentoring younger teachers, and participating in enrichment initiatives Insight of curriculum knowledge and best practice in Afrikaans FAL A proven record of excellence in teaching, assessment, and curriculum innovation A high level of organisational and administrative skills and commitment to team teaching in a busy department The ability to create and sustain relationships, and to mentor students in a boys' school environment A passion for teaching and the proven ability to create a positive learning environment and to motivate and inspire learners to flourish as skilled and agile learners A willingness to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College as well as to participate in the broader life of the school, including extra murals * Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender's clearance certificate
