Position: Bartender

Key Responsibilities:

Greet and assist guests at the bar, take beverage orders, and prepare/serve cocktails, wines, spirits and non-alcoholic drinks. Maintain high standards of drink presentation, garnish, and consistency. Upsell featured cocktails and promotions to increase revenue. Keep the bar area clean, well-stocked, organised: restock glasses, ice, mixers; assist with stock counts. Operate the POS system and handle cash/card payments accurately. Monitor and comply with liquor licensing, responsible service of alcohol (check ID, refuse service when required). Assist in opening and closing duties (bar setup, bar breakdown, cleaning, safe counts). Collaborate with the service team (waitresses, runners) during busy periods; support special events on the roof deck. Report equipment/facility issues, assist with inventory management, waste control.

Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum 1-2 years bartending experience (ideally in a bar/cocktail lounge environment). Good knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and trends in beverage service. Excellent guest service and communication skills; friendly, confident personality. Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays (when the venue is busiest). Must be legally permitted to serve alcohol in South Africa (valid ID, work permit if required). Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and maintain composure in a busy busy bar setting. Must have there own form of transport Good basic maths and cash handling skills; familiarity with POS systems an advantage.

Desirable Extras:

Some mixology or flair bartending skills. Experience working in a rooftop or open-air venue (wind, weather, event setup). Basic food safety or bar hygiene certification.
