Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

To prepare and serve beverages to customers in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner while ensuring high standards of customer service, hygiene, and compliance with health and safety regulations

Key ResponsibilitiesBeverage Preparation & Service

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes Mix cocktails and specialty drinks accurately and consistently Serve customers in a friendly, professional, and responsible manner Check customer identification and comply with liquor licensing laws.

Bar Operations

Set up and break down the bar before and after service Maintain stock levels and report shortages to management Ensure correct use of bar equipment and tools Handle cash and card transactions accurately (if applicable)

Hygiene, Health & Safety

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area Comply with health, safety, and hygiene regulations Ensure proper storage of beverages and bar supplies Follow responsible alcohol service guidelines Assist with stock counts and inventory records

Minimum Requirements

Grade 10 / Matric (preferred) Previous experience as a barman/bartender (advantageous) Knowledge of beverage preparation and bar service Understanding of liquor laws and responsible alcohol service Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills
