Greet and interact with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers as per standard recipes.
Take customer orders accurately and process payments (cash and card).
Monitor customer behaviour and consumption to ensure responsible service of alcohol.
Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including counters, equipment, and glassware.
Restock bar inventory and supplies such as spirits, mixers, garnishes, and ice.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Follow opening and closing procedures for the bar.
Handle customer queries, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally.
Work as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient bar operations.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to mix, garnish, and serve drinks according to recipes.
Knowledge of alcoholic beverages, cocktails, and bar equipment.
Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
Professional appearance and positive attitude.
Team player with good interpersonal skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
Previous experience as a barman/barlady or in a hospitality environment preferred.
Knowledge of liquor laws and responsible service of alcohol.
Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
Formal bartending or hospitality training (beneficial).
Working Conditions:
Shift-based work, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Standing for extended periods.
