The Barista Trainer Specialist / Operator is responsible for driving coffee excellence, barista capability, and in-store execution across the network. This role ensures consistent product quality, adherence to brand standards, and the development of baristas and store teams through training, coaching, and hands-on operational support.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoffee & Product Quality
Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of all coffee and beverage products in line with brand standards
Maintain and reinforce coffee recipes, extraction standards, milk texturing, and latte art expectations
Conduct regular in-store quality checks and taste evaluations
Support stores in improving consistency, speed, and quality during peak and off-peak periods
Training & Capability Building
Deliver barista training (new starter, refresher, and advanced levels)
Certify baristas against brand standards and training criteria
Coach baristas and store leaders through on-the-job training and feedback
Support the rollout of new products, equipment, or processes
Operational Support
Provide hands-on operational support in stores when required
Assist franchisees and managers with staffing gaps, skills development, and operational challenges
Support store openings, re-openings, and relaunches
Reinforce food safety, hygiene, and equipment care standards
Brand & Standards Compliance
Ensure compliance to barista standards, uniform, hygiene, and workstation setup
Support audit follow-ups related to coffee quality and barista execution
Identify gaps and work with store teams on corrective actions
Franchisee & Team Engagement
Build strong working relationships with franchisees, managers, and baristas
Act as a brand ambassador, representing the values and standards of the business
Provide constructive, supportive feedback aligned to PCR and brand expectations
Key Skills & Competencies
Strong coffee knowledge and hands-on barista experience
Ability to train, coach, and motivate teams
High attention to detail and quality standards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Problem-solving mindset with a practical, solutions-focused approach
Ability to work independently and travel between stores if required
Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience as a senior barista, barista trainer, or coffee specialist
Experience within a QSR or franchised coffee environment (advantageous)
Coffee certification or equivalent practical experience (preferred)
Understanding of food safety and operational standards
